Residential Collection

Martin County Utilities and Solid Waste has a contract with Waste Management for residential trash and recycling collection. Residents who live in the unincorporated areas of Martin County have two (2) garbage collection days. Your recycling day will also be on one of these two (2) scheduled days.

To determine the collection day(s) for your neighborhood, view the Collection Schedule Map.

Holiday Schedule

If a holiday falls on a weekday, residential collection will be delayed one (1) day for the remainder of the week. For example: If the holiday falls on Monday, then Monday's collection will be on Tuesday. The one-day delay will occur for each day of the week. If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, there will be NO delays.

Bulk Collection

For single-family homes, bulk trash includes non-vegetative items that can’t be containerized, bagged or bundled. Examples of bulk trash:

  • Broken or discarded refrigerators
  • Ranges
  • Toilets
  • Washers/dryers
  • Bath tubs
  • Water heaters
  • Sinks
  • Bicycles
  • Household goods and furniture

All bulk trash should be placed curbside on your regularly scheduled garbage collection day. To prevent property damage or safety issues, do not place bulk trash under power lines, next to mail boxes or other structures. Bulk trash that is not collected will be “tagged” with an information card notifying you that it has already been scheduled for pickup. Bulk trash will be collected within (7) days of your regularly scheduled collection day.

Bulk trash does not include cars, boats or engines and must be disposed of through other methods. Bulk trash pickup does not include contractor-generated waste. Contractors must dispose of any waste they generate.

To schedule a bulk waste pickup, call Waste Management at (772) 546-7700.

Missed Pickups

For missed pickups, call Waste Management at (772) 546-7700, or visit the Waste Management website.
