What’s included in my pavilion reservation?
Amenities vary by pavilion and may include picnic tables, grills, fans, screens, limited electrical outlets (15 amps), nearby restrooms, playground access, and ADA accessibility. High-powered equipment may require a generator. Check individual pavilion details or call (772) 221-1418 to confirm availability.
Can I decorate the pavilion for my event?
Yes, decorations are allowed, but please avoid using nails, staples, or anything that could damage park property, and be sure to remove all décor after your event. Martin County has a "No Balloons" policy at parks, including pavilions, due to the harmful effects of balloons on sea turtles and other wildlife.
Is alcohol allowed at pavilion rentals?
Yes, alcohol for personal consumption is allowed with your permit, but only during park hours and in designated areas. It is not allowed in restrooms or restricted beach areas, and the sale of alcohol and tobacco is prohibited on park property. All use must follow County rules and Ordinance Chapter 17.
Do I need a permit for amplified music or sound?
Amplified music must follow county noise ordinances: it is prohibited before 7 a.m. and after 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and after 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Some pavilions have limited electrical access (15 amps); generators may be needed. Contact Parks to confirm what’s allowed at your location. Permit holders are responsible for ensuring compliance with local noise laws - Martin County Code, Chapter 67, Article 10, § 305.
What is the difference between a private rental and a special event?
Private rentals are for personal gatherings like birthday parties or family picnics and are not open to the public. Special events are larger, public-facing, and may require permits, insurance, and approval through a Special Event Application.
What if it rains or I need to cancel?
Reservations are rain or shine and non-refundable unless the park closes due to weather or a County/State emergency. Cancellations must be submitted in writing at least 30 days in advance by emailing MCParksCustomerService@martin.fl.us and will incur a $25 processing fee.
