Tent Permit and Inspections

All tents exceeding 900 square feet in unincorporated Martin County require a permit and inspection by Martin County Fire Prevention to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.

Applicants must provide a flame retardant certificate, which verifies that a substance was applied to fabric, wood, or other materials to make them resistant to catching fire, and a site map showing all tents, canopies, temporary structures, stages, grandstands, medical treatment areas, evacuation or relocation areas, fire protection equipment, and distances to nearby buildings, parking areas, and transportation routes such as roads and driveways.
