Parks & Recreation Master Plan

Martin County provides a comprehensive Parks and Recreation system that greatly contributes to the quality of life in the County and surrounding areas. In order to plan for the future of this valuable Parks and Recreation system, the Parks and Recreation Department began a planning process to develop a System Master Plan.

Development of the plan included a public input process as well as a services inventory and analysis. The Master Plan provides the framework through 2035 to respond to the evolving needs of this unique community.

From this Plan, four major goals were identified for the Department from community input. These goals serve as a template for the Department’s Strategic Plan which provides the implementation strategy for the Master Plan.

Goal 1: Maintain and Invest in Existing and New Facilities 
Goal 2: Improve and Enhance Programming and Service Delivery
Goal 3: Continue to Improve Organizational Efficiencies
Goal 4: Reduce operational subsidy and expand capital funding
