Route Descriptions

Fixed Route service operates along a prescribed route according to a fixed schedule. Marty’s fixed route services typically run between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Fixed Route buses are equipped with ramps to assist with boarding and exiting for individuals using mobility devices. Riders must remain seated while the bus is in motion. If you are riding in a wheelchair or using a mobility aid, your equipment must be secured to the floor of the vehicle by four securement straps. Drivers are trained to secure your mobility aids to the floor and can assist with securing your seat belt and verify that you are secure.

Mobility aids on fixed route: Marty can accommodate walkers, canes and “common wheelchairs” whether operated manually or powered. MARTY may not be able to accommodate you if your wheelchair/mobility device is longer than 48 inches or wider than 30 inches or if your total weight when occupying your wheelchair is more than 600 pounds. Per the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is not intended to be a comprehensive system of transportation for individuals with disabilities.

Commuter Route services are limited-stop buses that operate along a prescribed route to Palm Beach County.

ADA Paratransit service, MARTY Access, is a shared-ride, door-to-door transportation service available to ADA-eligible individuals whose origin and destination fall within ¾ of a mile of a scheduled fixed route service. This service operates the same hours as Fixed Route service: between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Paratransit & Veterans

View information about Martin County Public Transit's paratransit service, MARTY Access, and the Veterans Transportation Program.

Martin County Public Transit offers MARTY Access, a paratransit service for individuals with physical, cognitive, visual, or other disabilities that prevent them from using fixed-route buses. This service is provided in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.

How it Works

All applicants seeking eligibility for the ADA paratransit service must go through an eligibility determination process. The ADA paratransit eligibility application process includes, but not limited to:

  • A medical verification form completed by a licensed physician describing the conditions which prevent the applicant from using the fixed route and how these conditions prevent the applicant from using the fixed route.
  • A review of the applicant’s own assessment of their ability to use Martin County Public Transit fixed-route buses, and;
  • A functional assessment performed by an Eligibility Contractor.

Applicants must reside in the urbanized ADA service area, within three quarters of a mile of MARTY's fixed route service area, provide proof of Martin County residency and a valid photo ID.
