Calendar of Events

The following are the purposes for which this Corporation has been organized to promote the economic and business welfare in Martin County and the sites therein by increasing employment opportunities; to solicit support and aid of the public in this work; to promote and conduct economic programs designed to retain existing businesses and to strengthen and expand the income potential of businesses within Martin County in accordance with the Economic Element of the Martin County Comprehensive Plan; to engage in activities seeking to bring qualified businesses and industry into Martin County; to develop and carry out activities for the purposes of raising the money to meet the expenses and establish funds and otherwise create and support the purposes of the Corporation and to manage, invest, and disburse such monies in accordance with the non-profit purposes of the Corporation; and the Corporation shall have such corporate powers as are granted in Chapter 617 of the Florida Statutes and all amendments subsequent thereto, together with such other additional powers as shall be reasonably co-existent and appropriate and necessary for the full use and proper management of the Corporation of any of its purposes; provided, however, that this Corporation in exercising anyone or more of its powers, shall do so in furtherance of the exempt purposes for which it has been organized, and as described in the Internal Revenue Code, and provisions herein, which conflict with those purposes and would render the Corporation non-exempt, shall be treated as void and of no effect.

Martin County's Children's Librarians love to read, but they also love to sing and dance! Join us for a story and early literacy activities.

According to Every Child Ready to Read @ Your Library, singing, talking, and playing are also important for developing early literacy skills. This interactive event may use bubbles, scarves, hand-held instruments or shaker eggs, loud music, and more. All adults are encouraged to participate with their children in this fun early literacy activity. Families are welcome!

Join Marybeth Peña with Hope Center for Autism for a fun dance fitness program created for toddlers and preschoolers.

Kids will dance, play, and move while learning healthy fitness habits and having fun. Sensory integration and neurodiversity resources will also be available.

As we continue our Adult & Caregivers Connection:

Get updated on the latest research and medical studies that are paving the way for early diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Today, a simple blood test may be able to detect signs of the disease 10–15 years before symptoms begin, offering new hope for early care and planning. Learn the important differences between Alzheimer’s and dementia, and explore a range of treatment options—including medications, supportive therapies, and healthy lifestyle changes. 

Learn the various features on your iPad, how to navigate on the iPad through gestures, and what apps are and how to use and download them.

Teens will have an opportunity to build on their programming, electronics, and science skills through coding using innovative digital technologies.

In this 4-day summer program teens will have hands on opportunities to work with innovative digital technologies like Arduino to have a better understanding of the careers related to robotics, engineering, and coding. This program is made possible by a generous donation from Clare and Molly Tyler to the Library Foundation of Martin County. This endowment enhances all STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) events throughout the Martin County Library System with the hopes of inspiring the future generation to pursue excellence in one of the STEM fields. Registration required.

Pursuant to a request by the Board of County Commissioners, to make its special knowledge and expertise available to any official, department, board, or agency. Examination of contractor's license holders and applicants. Licensing of contractors. Review of violations of chapter by license holders. The Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) shall be the Adjustment and Appeals Board pursuant to Sections 21.20 and 21.21, General Ordinances, Martin County Code. The CILB shall be the Local Construction Regulation Board (Section 489.113(4) FS).

Children love music and movement! Join us for some musical activities that provide exercise, motor development, and FUN! Recommended ages 0-5.

This interactive event may use bubbles, scarves, hand-held instruments or shaker eggs, loud music, and more. All adults are encouraged to participate with their children in this fun early literacy activity. Families are welcome!
