Learn about Alligators at Halpatiokee Regional Park

Join environmental educator Joyce E. Thomasson and Martin County Ecosystems and Restoration staff for an interactive lesson about the history of alligators at Halpatiokee Regional Park!

Does this park's name have anything to do with these ancient creatures? Learn some alligator secrets and do the "swamp walk" through the park.

With 65 acres of active park land surrounded by approximately 500 acres of wetland preserve area, Halpatiokee is home to the longnose gar, shiners, several species of sunfish, cooters, river otters and of course, alligators.

Halpatiokee is conveniently located at 8303 SW Lost River Road in Stuart. Hikers should meet at the covered pavilion for a 10 a.m. start.

This event is FREE and open to families of all ages.
