Project At-A-Glance

Martin County is set to replace the South County Line Road Bridge, originally constructed in 1974. This project will modernize the bridge by combining the existing pedestrian and roadway structures into a single, unified design. Key features of the new bridge include 12-foot travel lanes with 6-foot shoulders to enhance traffic flow and vehicle safety and a 6-foot sidewalk to improve pedestrian accessibility and safety.

In April 2024, Martin County received a $3 million grant through the General Appropriation Act to support the bridge replacement, with construction anticipated to begin in Fall 2025. The construction phase is expected to take approximately 12 months, concluding in late 2026.

This crucial infrastructure project will improve access, safety, and stormwater management for the surrounding community.
