About the Games

The Martin County Senior Games is an annual sporting event open to persons aged 50 and older. Participants compete in various sporting events across five-year age brackets.

Events take place at multiple venues throughout Martin County and are open to athletes from across Florida. The top 5 finishers in each age group qualify for the Florida Senior Games.

The Games promote physical fitness, social wellness, and lifelong recreation opportunities for seniors, aligning with Martin County Parks and Recreation's goal to provide recreational opportunities for all ages.

Rules & Information

Opens: July 6, 2026

  • Online Registration: Visit www.martin.fl.us/SeniorGames 
  • In-Person Registration: Log Cabin Senior Center located at 2369 NE Dixie Hwy, Jensen Beach between the hours of 9am - 4pm, Monday-Friday.
  • NO mail-in entries will be accepted!

Closes: October 15 at 2pm or when registrations reach maximum number of participants for event.

Each event requires an entry fee. Registration is per event - per participant, and the cost varies. See individual event details for specific fees associated. Entry fees are refundable only if an event is canceled. There are NO substitutions or transfers permitted. All participating individuals must have separate and complete registrations.

Registration ends October 15 at 2pm. The deadline to have a T-shirt and size guaranteed is October 1t, 2026.

Open to amateur athletes, 50 years of age and over as of Dec. 31, 2026, regardless of residency.

Age divisions for competitions are: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99, and 100+. Age divisions for all singles competitions will be determined by the athlete’s age as of December 31, 2026. Age divisions for all doubles and mixed doubles competitions will be determined by the younger age of the two players as of December 31, 2026.

Please Note: On occasion, older individual(s) may be grouped in a lower age division so that they may compete. If this individual receives a medal in a lower age group, provisions will be made to medal the next place finisher in the appropriate age group.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be presented in each age division in each event. If you are unable to stay or do not receive your medal at the event, you may pick it up the week after the games are completed at the Senior Log Cabin located in Langford Park at 2369 NE Dixie Hwy, Jensen Beach, FL 34957.

Athletes finishing 1st-5th place in age division will qualify for Florida Senior Games. The 2026 Florida Senior Games will be held December 5-13, 2026 at the Florida’s Sports Coast, Pasco County. Qualifying athletes will be sent registration information after conclusion of Martin County Senior Games. The 2026 Florida Senior Games is a qualifier for the 2027 National Senior Games, to be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma June 30 – July 11, 2027.

The Martin County Parks and Recreation Department (PRD) reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment, inclement weather, or other circumstances that would make the event non-viable. If Martin County PRD cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund. Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date.In the case of inclement weather and the cancellation of an event, it will be posted on the Martin County PRD website at https://www.martin.fl.us/SeniorGames and on the Martin County PRD social media page @MyMCParks on Facebook.

Requests for cancellations or event transfers must be made at least five (5) days before the event’s scheduled start date, in writing and emailed to MCSeniorGames@martin.fl.us. One event transfer per participant is permitted, subject to availability. Refund or transfer requests made less than five (5) days before the event’s scheduled start date will not be eligible for refunds or event transfers. *Pickleball has a separate Refund/Cancellation/Transfer policy. See Pickleball event details for more information.

Please Note: Failure to attend, arriving late, leaving early, or being dismissed from a registered event will be considered a forfeiture of materials supplied and all fees paid, and are not eligible for a refund. Registration or payment transfers from participant to participant are not permitted. All individuals MUST register separately and individually.

Entry Regulations

Format

  • The event will be an 18-hole strokeplay competition.
  • Medaling for the event will be based off the score of 18 holes.
  • Handicaps are not used.
  • A maximum score will be utilized for all tournament rounds for both men and women. A player’s maximum score for each hole shall be related to par and set at triple bogey.
  • This event will be conducted in accordance with United States Golf Association (USGA) rules, except as modified.
  • Local rules will also be in effect.
  • Caddies are not permitted.
  • Rangefinders of any type are permitted.
  • In the event of a tie between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, the USGA tie-breaking procedure of matching scorecards will be implemented. The player with the best score on the last nine holes will win the higher medal. If players have the same score for the last 9 holes, the last 6 holes will be compared, then 3 holes, and then finally the 18th hole.

Entry Regulations

  • Swimmers may enter a maximum of six individual events.
  • Swimmers must provide their own equipment.

Format

  • All swimming events will be timed finals.
  • Warm-up time will be available
  • Events will be held in the competition pool set for short course (25yd).
  • Rules
  • Competition will be conducted in accordance with United States Masters Swimming (USMS) rules.
  • Starts: The forward start may be taken from the starting blocks, the pool deck or a push from the wall. The Backstroke start is taken from the wall. A false start will result in disqualification.
  • Turns: The Breaststroke and Butterfly turns must be done with both hands touching the wall simultaneously. The Backstroke and Freestyle events require some part of the body to touch the wall.
  • Backstroke: There are no rules pertaining to arm or leg movements. The swimmer is allowed to turn over on his/her stomach during the turn prior to touching the wall.
  • Breaststroke: Appropriate stroke is required. After the start and after each turn, at any time prior to the first breaststroke kick, a single butterfly (dolphin) kick is permitted, following which, all movements of the legs shall be simultaneous and in the same horizontal plane without alternating movement.
  • Butterfly: The appropriate stroke is required. The breaststroke or whip kick may be used exclusively or interchangeably with the dolphin kick while doing the butterfly stroke at any time during the race.
  • Freestyle: Swimmers must touch the wall at each turn and at the finish. Any stroke may be used, and swimmers may switch strokes whenever they wish, except that in an individual medley event, freestyle means any stroke other than butterfly, breaststroke or backstroke.
  • Medley: The order of strokes in the Individual Medley is Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle. Rules for individual strokes govern strokes and turns.

Register for Basketball Shooting

Format

  • Each event will be contested and awarded separately.
  • Competition in Free Throw Shooting will be conducted first, followed by Spot Shooting and Timed Shooting.
  • Balls will be provided for the convenience of the participant but are not required to be utilized. Participants may compete with their own ball. All balls must meet NCAA ball requirements and specifications. Balls are subject to inspection at any time before, during or after the competition.
  • Free Throw Shooting: 
    • The contestant will attempt three rounds of ten shots each from the free-throw line.
    • Each basket made is worth one point. 
    • The total of all three rounds will determine the contestant's final score.
    • The ball will be rebounded for the shooter.
    • Tiebreaker will consist of one additional round with five shots from the free throw line for each participant that is tied. If there is still a tie, the rounds will continue through the third round where two medals will be awarded for that place.
  • Spot Field Goal Shooting:
    • The contestant will attempt three rounds of five shots (one shot from each spot per round).
    • One shot will be taken from each of the five designated spots around the basket. The spots shall be as follows:
      • Baseline shot 5.5 feet from the end line and 10 feet from each side of the basket.
      • Near the top corner of the free throw line on each side of the basket. For men, 4 feet from the foul line extended on each side. For women, 2 feet from the foul line and 2 feet towards the basket from the free throw line.
      • Top of the key. For men, a 2-foot line will be placed at the top of the key parallel to the free throw line and 19 feet from the front rim of the basket. For women, a 2-foot line will be placed at the free throw line.
    • Each basket made is worth one point.
    • The total from all three rounds will determine the contestant's final score.
    • The ball will be rebounded for the shooter.
    • Tiebreaker will consist of one additional round with five shots from every designated spot for each participant that is tied. If there is still a tie, the rounds will continue until the third round, where two medals will be awarded for that place.
  • Timed Field Goal Shooting:
    • The contestant will be allowed three rounds of one minute each. The contestant will begin shooting when the timekeeper calls “start.”
    • The contestant can shoot from any of the indicated spots at any time during the round, with the exception that consecutive shots may not be taken from the “A” spot.
    • Each basket will be worth one to five points based on the level of difficulty. The spots and point values are as follows:
      • “A”-spot (1 point) – Spot located directly under basket. A spot will not be marked for this shot. This shot is a lay-up or any shot from inside the foul lane.
      • “B”-spots (2 points) – Baseline shot 5.5-feet from the end line and 10-feet from each side of the basket. The contestant may not step over the line until the ball has been released.
      • “C”-spots (3 points) – Near the top corner of the free throw line on each side of the basket. For men, 4 feet from the foul line extended on each side. For women, 2 feet from the foul line and 2 feet towards the basket from the free throw line (13 feet from the front rim of the basket). The contestant may not step over the line until the ball has been released.
      • “D”-spot (5 points) – Top of the key for men, free throw line for women. A 2-foot line will be placed at the top of the key parallel to the free throw line and 19 feet from the front rim of the basket for men. For women, a 2-foot line will be placed at the free throw line. The contestant may not step over the line until the ball has been released.
    • Contestants attempting a shot from all six spots will earn a five-point bonus for that round. The bonus can be earned for each round.
    • Contestants must rebound their own shots.
    • The combined score for all three rounds will determine the final score.
    • A tiebreaker will consist of one additional round for 30 seconds for each participant that is tied. If there is still a tie, the rounds will continue until the third round, where two medals will be awarded for that place.
