Phipps Park Campground

Phipps Park Campground sits along the Okeechobee Waterway and is a 55-acre conservation and campground area. The campground provides great opportunity for fresh and/or saltwater fishing, and is open year round. Campers also appreciate the waterfront view that many of our campsite locations provide.

Adventure Tents

Explore the outdoors with family and friends with a magical experience under the stars in beautiful western Martin County. Enjoy waking up to the sights and sounds of nature in one of the most beautiful campgrounds. Adventure Tent camping is a fantastic getaway that allows you to reconnect with family and friends, spending quality time together while having fun with a variety of outdoor activities.

Our Adventure Tents are perfect for those who are just starting to experience camping or would like to avoid the hassle of setting up a tent. All sites include a 10x10 canvas tent with insect protection screens, grill, picnic table, fire pit and breathtaking waterviews. We also have two ADA tents available.  

Adventure Tent Rates:

November 1 – April 30: $40.00 plus tax/per night 
May 1 – October 31: $35.00 plus tax/per night 

When planning a stay in our Adventure Tents, please consider:

There is no vehicle access to the tent sites. We provide complimentary wagons to assist with the transfer of your belongings from the parking lot to the tent site (a short one minute walk). There is also no electricity, water or WiFi currently available at the sites. Please make sure your equipment is battery or solar powered.

* Games and activities can be checked out from the Phipps Park office by simply using your last name and camp site number.

What to bring:

Here are some tips and ideas on what to bring for your Adventure Tents stay:

  • Air mattress or sleeping bag
  • Pillows and blankets
  • Enhance your campground experience by downloading the “Nature Sounds" app and enjoy the sounds of nature while you sleep!
  • Cooler with food & drinks (don’t forget the s’mores!)
  • Ice or ice substitutes
  • Battery or solar powered headlamps or flashlights (Adventure Tents are not equipped with electricity)
  • WiFi Hotspot device (we currently do not have WiFi at the campground)
  • Toiletry kit
  • First-aid kit or supplies
  • Sunscreen & sun hat
  • Mosquito spray
  • Cooking and eating utensils
  • Fishing pole

RV camping at Phipps Park

RV Sites

Phipps Park has 24 RV (recreational vehicle) sites equipped with 30 and 50 amp electric service, water hookup, picnic table, grill, fire pit and close access to a dump station. There is a 90-day maximum stay for RV camping per county fiscal year (October 1 - September 30).

RV Site Rates:

  • November 1 – April 30: $43.00 plus tax/per night
  • May 1 – October 31: $35.00 plus tax/per night
Primitive Camping

PRIMITIVE CAMPING

Phipps Park has 35 primitive sites (no electric, no water). Each site has a picnic table, grill and fire pit. There is a 30-day maximum stay for tent camping per county fiscal year (October 1 - September 30).

Primitive Site Rates:

  • November 1 – April 30: $35.00 plus tax/per night
  • May 1 – October 31: $25.00 plus tax/per night
  • Youth organization sites (up to 50 people): $50.00 plus tax/per night. Please call for reservations.

Reservations

To make a reservation, book online via the button below or call (772) 287-6565. Reservations must be made 24-hours in advance of arrival to allow time to provide the gate code for park entry after hours.

Refund Policy

Cancellations/date transfers or refunds must be made at least fourteen (14) days prior to the reserved date. The prevailing administrative fee will be applied to all refund or transfer requests. 30 days cancellation notice is required for long term reservations on electrical sites or: 

  • A $100 cancellation fee will be applied to the refund request for electric campsites that have been paid for with reservation dates lasting between 15- 29 days. 
  • A $300 cancellation fee will be applied to the refund request for electric campsites that have been paid for with reservation dates that are 30 days or greater. 
  • No refunds or transfers will be granted for cancellations or transfer made less than 14 days in advance.

Park Rules & Regulations

  • The front gate opens at 6 a.m. and closes at 7:30 p.m. Campers are provided a gate code to enter and exit the park after hours. 
  • The campground has limited water/electric hook ups available upon reservation.
  • RV and boat storage is not permitted.
  • Use of screws and nails is not permitted in trees or park property.
  • Use of pallets or scrap lumber for firewood is not permitted.
  • Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • Laundry room hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • All persons must comply with Federal, State & Local laws.
  • Campsites shall be maintained in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Check-in time is 3:00 PM. Check-out time is noon.
  • Payment must be on time and in advance or upon check-in or by Noon when extending reservation.
  • No smoking within 50 feet of all buildings.
  • Campsites are designated to hold a maximum of six (6) people.
  • Campfires, if conditions allow, in fire rings only.
  • Additional camping units and vehicles will require an additional campsite and/or fee.
  • Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Parents are responsible for the conduct of their children.
  • Inform park supervisor if you plan to be away from your campsite overnight.
  • Washing dishes or laundry in the bathrooms; washing or repairing vehicles in the park is prohibited. 
  • Transporting of black/grey water is prohibited except in an approved container. Please use dump station for disposal.
  • Line/rope is not permitted to be tied to trees.
  • Fireworks are prohibited in the park.
  • Golfing in the park is prohibited. 
  • There is a limit of two pets per campsite. Pet owners must show proof of proper vaccinations and licenses. Pets must be kept on campsite or pet walk area at all times and be restrained with a leash six feet or less. Pet waste and leash laws enforced. **Pets are not allowed overnight at the Adventure Tents area**

To reduce the spread of COVID-19, high-touch surfaces will be sanitized frequently, Adventure Tents will be cleaned and sanitized at the end of each reservation period, and campers are encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines during their stay at Phipps Park Campground.
