COVID-19 Information for Phipps Park Campground

Phipps Park Campground is now open and accepting reservations for RV camping, Adventure Tents and Primitive camping. 

Keeping our community safe is a joint effort:

  • Online reservations are encouraged.
  • Payment via credit card is required. No cash payments accepted.
  • Adventure tents and picnic tables will be sanitized at the end of each reservation period.
  • High-touch areas will be sanitized frequently.
  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitizer at one of the provided stations around the campground; including after coughing or sneezing, before eating, after toilet use, and when hands are visibly dirty.
  • Follow social/physical distancing guidelines carefully, maintaining 6 feet of space from others at all times. Family members and others (a “family unit”) who live in the same household can be closer together. All others will strictly adhere to the physical distancing guidelines.
  • Face coverings are required in Martin County.

Phipps Park Campground

Maintained and operated by Martin County Parks and Recreation, Phipps Park Campground sits along the Okeechobee Waterway and is a 55-acre conservation and campground area. Phipps Park has traditional campsites with picnic tables and fire rings as well as 24 RV sites with electric, water and a dump station.

Phipps Park Campground provides great opportunity for fresh and/or saltwater fishing, and is open year round. Campers also appreciate the waterfront view that many of our sites provide. 

Adventure Tents

What experience can be more magical than sleeping outdoors and under the stars? New in 2020, Phipps Park Campground now has 19 new waterfront Adventure Tents!

Enjoy waking up to the sights and sounds of nature in one of the most beautiful campgrounds. Just bring your pillow and sleeping bag and we'll provide a tent. Our tents have insect protection screens, sturdy canvas, and all sites open up to a view of the water. You can also grill at your site and have your own campfire.

Adventure Tents are $35.00 (plus tax) per night. We also have two ADA tents available. To reserve a campsite, select the reservation button below, or for any additional questions, call (772) 287-6565

When planning your stay in our Adventure Tents, please also consider the following:

There is no vehicle access to the tent sites. We provide complimentary wagons to assist with the transfer of your belongings from the parking lot to the tent site (this is a short one-minute walk across a bridge). There is also no electricity currently available at the sites, so make sure that your equipment is battery or solar powered.

Make a Reservation

To reduce the spread of COVID-19, high-touch surfaces will be sanitized frequently, Adventure Tents will be cleaned and sanitized at the end of each reservation period, and campers are encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines during their stay at Phipps Park Campground.

There is a 90-day maximum stay for RV camping, and a 30-day maximum stay for tent camping per county fiscal year (October 1 - September 30).

The campground has limited water/electric hook ups available upon reservation. The front gate opens at 6 a.m. and closes at 7:30 p.m. Campers are provided a gate code to enter and exit the park after hours. 

Per Night Rates

  • Adventure Tent (non-electric): $35.00 plus tax 
  • Sites with electric: $40.00 plus tax (November April 30)
  • Sites with electric: $35.00 plus tax (May 1 October 31)
  • Primitive sites (non-electric): $25.00 plus tax
  • Youth/Group sites (up to 50 people): $50.00 plus tax

Book Reservations

To make a reservation, book online or call (772) 287-6565. Reservations must be made 24-hours in advance of arrival to allow time to provide the gate code for park entry after hours.

Refund Policy

Cancellations/date transfers or refunds must be made at least fourteen (14) days prior to the reserved date. The prevailing administrative fee will be applied to all refund or transfer requests. 30 days cancellation notice is required for long term reservations on electrical sites or: 

  • A $100 cancellation fee will be applied to the refund request for electric campsites that have been paid for with reservation dates lasting between 15- 29 days. 
  • A $300 cancellation fee will be applied to the refund request for electric campsites that have been paid for with reservation dates that are 30 days or greater. 
  • No refunds or transfers will be granted for cancellations or transfer made less than 14 days in advance.

Park Rules & Regulations

  • RV and boat storage is not permitted.
  • Use of screws and nails is not permitted in trees or park property.
  • Use of pallets or scrap lumber for firewood is not permitted.
  • Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • Laundry room hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • All persons must comply with Federal, State & Local laws.
  • Campsites shall be maintained in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Check-in time is 3:00 PM. Check-out time is noon.
  • Payment must be on time and in advance or upon check-in or by Noon when extending reservation.
  • No smoking within 50 feet of all buildings.
  • Campsites are designated to hold a maximum of six (6) people.
  • Campfires, if conditions allow, in fire rings only.
  • Additional camping units and vehicles will require an additional campsite and/or fee.
  • Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Parents are responsible for the conduct of their children.
  • Inform park supervisor if you plan to be away from your campsite overnight.
  • Washing dishes or laundry in the bathrooms; washing or repairing vehicles in the park is prohibited. 
  • Transporting of black/grey water is prohibited except in an approved container. Please use dump station for disposal.
  • Line/rope is not permitted to be tied to trees.
  • Fireworks are prohibited in the park.
  • Golfing in the park is prohibited. 
  • There is a limit of two pets per campsite. Pet owners must show proof of proper vaccinations and licenses. Pets must be kept on campsite or pet walk area at all times and be restrained with a leash six feet or less. Pet waste and leash laws enforced. **Pets are not allowed overnight at the Adventure Tents area**
