Martin County’s Environmental Resources Division will begin mechanical removal of invasive vegetation at Citrus Grove Park on August 12, with work expected to continue through August 19.
Crews will use heavy equipment to remove dense invasive vegetation that can crowd out native plants and reduce habitat quality for wildlife.
This restoration work will help:
- Reduce competition with native plant communities
- Improve habitat diversity
- Encourage the natural recovery of native vegetation
- Improve cover and foraging opportunities for native wildlife
Removing invasive vegetation is an important part of Martin County’s ongoing efforts to restore and manage natural areas for the long term.
Park Visitor Notice: Heavy equipment and crews will be operating in designated areas during this work. Visitors should use caution near active work zones and follow all posted signage and temporary access restrictions.
