Insurance Service Organization (ISO) Public Protection Class Rating
The Insurance Service Organization (ISO) Public Protection Class rating has improved for some sections of Martin County and is applicable to all residents and businesses in unincorporated Martin County effective July 1, 2018. ISO is an independent company that serves insurance companies, communities, fire departments, insurance regulators, and others by providing information about risk.
ISO's expert staff collects information about municipal fire suppression efforts in communities, analyzes the relevant data and assigns a Public Protection Classification – a number from 1 to 10. The lower the rating, the higher the potential insurance savings.
Many residents and business may need this information to receive property insurance or reduce their current rate. The ISO-PPC rating is indicated in the “Property Information Lookup."
