March 1, 2019 Louise Hubbard, Executive Director Treasure Coast Homeless Services Council 2525 St. Lucie Avenue Vero Beach, Fl 32960 Re: ESG and Challenge Funds for Martin County Dear Louise: Martin County Health & Human Services serves individuals and families in the Martin County Community who are experiencing, or are at risk of, homelessness. We are requesting Emergency Solutions Grant funding in the amount of $40,000.00 for social services in Martin County to provide initial rent and deposit money to 30 literally homeless families who may qualify under the current guidelines of TCHSC. In addition, we are requesting $10,000.00 in Challenge funds to serve five unaccompanied singles. Last Fiscal Year, Martin County used approximately $33,000.00 of ESG Funds to assist 25 families and approximately $5,000.00 of Challenge Funds to assist two families. ESG and Challenge funding will allow us to provide rental assistance to include deposit and first month rent; deposit for utilities, and past due rent for individuals already in a home but facing possible eviction. We anticipate helping 30 families or more in Martin County in addition to the unaccompanied singles. Our case manager regularly utilized ClientTrack to record services to our clients and will record follow-up service calls to ESG and Challenge recipients at the required times. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Sincerely, Michelle Miller, CPM Health & Human Services Manager Community Services Division 1 of 1 adm2019L158.docx
