Burn ban in unincorporated Martin County effective June 7

Martin County has announced a burn ban in unincorporated Martin County effective June 7 and to remain in place until further notice. The ban is in response to extremely dry conditions and lack of rainfall in the county. The ban prohibits the burning of yard trash and vegetation, as well as other types of fires such as campfires, bonfires, and burn barrels. The use of fireworks is also prohibited.

Above-ground charcoal, gas or electric grills are allowed, provided they are used away from wooded areas. All burns authorized by the Florida Fire Service are exempt from this ban. To learn more about open burns and how burn status is determined, please visit the Open Fires webpage.
