Health officials issue mosquito-borne illness advisory

Florida Department of Health (DOH) in Martin County and the Martin County Board of County Commissioners urge residents to take precautions to prevent mosquito bites following confirmations of West Nile and St. Louis encephalitis viruses in sentinel chicken flocks in the area. As of November 3, 2022, there are no suspected or confirmed human cases in the county, though the risk of transmission to humans has increased.
