Paws to Read
Reading to dogs can boost reading skills in children as well as help with emotional and social skills. The goal of the program is for participants to gain confidence and increased reading fluency. The Blake and Elisabeth Lahti Libraries partnered with the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, Inc. for the PAWS to Read program. Participants read to certified therapy dogs for 30 minutes on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings for four (4) weeks. Spaces are available at 10:30am, 11:30 a.m., 6:15 p.m. or 7 p.m. New participants are selected each month (September - April with a break in December). Search our events calendar and register for the next available Paws to Read session!
