Family Place Pre School Learning Packet

This fun preschool learning packet will help your preschooler develop skills necessary for school. Come by the Blake Library Friday, May 7, between 10 am and noon to pick up your packet. Martin County | Digitize (Y)our Local History!


Help us gather the history of Martin County by sharing yours! Residents and local community members are invited to bring items of historic significance to one of our upcoming digitization sessions! Registration required.


  • Bring items with historic significance to Martin County. Please limit items to 10-20 per person.
  • Items will be scanned and saved using professional equipment.
  • You keep the original. Want a digital copy for yourself? Bring a USB flash drive.
  • With permission, digital copies of selected items may be added to the Martin County Memory Project. 


  • Martin County post cards or souvenirs
  • Old photographs and scrapbooks (images older than 30 years may be considered historically significant)
  • Newspaper articles 
  • Official correspondence

Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee Meeting

The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) represents the citizens of Martin County on all bicycle and pedestrian-related issues. The Committee is responsible for providing input into the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) decision-making process, which includes reviewing and commenting on planning documents and identifying relevant issues to be brought before the MPO Board.

Historic Preservation Board Meeting

Historic Preservation Board
1.    Recognize archaeological geo-environmental zones as identified on an Archaeological Survey of Martin County.
2.    Designate historic sites and districts pursuant to Section 4.584.
3.    Approve historical markers and issue certificates of designation.
4.    Establish procedures for the issuance of certificates of appropriateness and certificates to dig.
5.    Recommend zoning and building code amendments to the proper authorities.
6.    Promote an awareness of the benefits of historic preservation and its benefits to the community.
7.    Perform periodic updates to the historic archaeological survey.
8.    Perform periodic updates to the architectural survey.
9.    Record and maintain records of the HPB’s actions and decisions.
10.    Provide an annual report to the Board of County Commissioners.
11.    Review, develop, and recommend ordinances to the Board of County Commissioners that promote the preservation and rehabilitation of historic resources.
12.    Seek out worthy projects for matching grants in aid from sources which have as their purpose the preservation for public benefit...
