Historians, Twitter, and Netflix - Oh, My!

Join us for a virtual Q&A session with Florida historian and ethnographer, Jason Herbert, where he’ll discuss his weekly event, Historians at the Movies or #HATM. Since its start in 2018, #HATM happens every Sunday evening when historians and movie buffs connect on Twitter to simultaneously stream a pre-determined movie from home. Participants then collectively share (tweet) reactions, retorts, and research! Since its start in 2018, Jason’s success in connecting people with history through digital media has been covered by media outlets like The New Yorker and The Chronicle of Higher Education, with films ranging from 300 to West Side Story. Who knew fact-checking could be so much fun?! Jason will be interviewed local educator and Library Trustee, Nathaniel Osborn.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Martin County Library System, Inc. Registration is required and a Zoom link will be included in your confirmation email.
