Calendar of Events

Join us at Hoke Library for some family fun.  Put on your messy clothes and come create some beautiful art.  All materials will be provided.  

Registration is required. This event will be held outdoors, weather permitting. Sponsored by the Library Foundation of Martin County Inc. and Women Supporting the Arts.

Children have fun reading to trained therapy dogs. Readers gain confidence and improve their reading fluency. The PAWS to Read program is a partnership with the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast. The recommended age for participation is 7 - 12 years. The participants must bring a book with them to each session to read to the dog. Registration is required. Registration is for January 7, 14, 21, 28. This event will take place at the Peter and Julie Cummings Library Pavilion

PAWS to Read is a long-standing program offered in partnership with the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast in which children have fun reading to trained therapy dogs. Readers gain confidence and improve their reading fluency in a safe, nonjudgmental environment.

The recommended age for participation is 7 to 12 years. The child must be able to read independently and bring a book of their choice with them to each Thursday session throughout the month to read to the dog. Registration is required.

These events will take place at the Peter & Julie Cummings Library Pavilion and are sponsored by the Friends of the Martin County Library System, Inc. (All outdoor events will be held weather permitting)

Each Neighborhood Advisory Committee (NAC) shall assist in the preparation of the required community redevelopment plan for its particular designated community redevelopment area. The Committee shall follow the procedures of the adopted small area planning process. The completed Community Redevelopment Plan shall be presented to the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) for review and approval prior to presentation to the Board. The final Community Redevelopment Plan shall be adopted by the Board. In addition to providing advice and recommendations to the Community Redevelopment Agency on the implementation of an adopted Community Redevelopment Plan, each Committee shall work towards consensus to provide advice and recommendations to the Community Redevelopment Agency, to the extent permitted by the development review process, grant deadlines, or other similar time constraints, regarding the following: Proposed amendments and modifications to a Community Redevelopment Plan, Development applications within its Community Redevelopment Area that are classified as major applications under the provisions of the Martin County Land Development Regulations, the prioritization of...

The Board of Zoning Adjustment is a seven-member board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.   The Board Zoning Adjustment grant variances to dimensional requirements (setbacks), along with other requirements as defined in Section 9.5 of the Land Development Regulations.  The Board of Zoning Adjustment may meet on the fourth Thursday of the month.  The Board of Zoning Adjustment’s secretary to the Board, records and prepares minutes that can be obtained in the Growth Management Department.
