Martin County 30th Annual Senior Games

The 2019 Martin County Senior Games is here! The 30th annual sporting event will take place from October 26 to November 3, 2019. Individuals ages 50 and up will have a chance to participate and compete in 13 different sporting events in five-year age increment brackets.

  • Tennis
  • Table Tennis
  • Pickleball
  • Basketball
  • Swimming
  • Bowling
  • Cycling
  • Track and Field

The sporting events take place at various locations in Martin and St. Lucie counties but are open to participants from all over Florida. The Senior Games also serves as a sanctioned qualifier for the Florida Senior Games State Championships. Athletes that finish in the top 5 of their age group are eligible to enter the state championships.

Registration is now open!

Entry Fees:

  • Bowling $25 per person
  • Pickleball $20 per person plus $10 per event
  • All other sports $20 per person

Registration ends October 26, 2019.

Martin County's children's librarians love to read but they also love to sing and dance. According to Every Child Ready to Read @ Your Library, singing, talking, and playing are also important for developing early literacy skills.

Check with your local library or online for days and times.

If you work during the week, the Hobe Sound Library and the Hoke Library in Jensen Beach offer family story times on Saturdays!

Kids Coding @ Cummings

Using Google's CS First curriculum, this 8-week Coding Club is designed for youth ages 9-14. We'll learn Scratch, a block-based programming language designed for beginners with each week offering a new lesson. Laptops will be provided, but students are invited to bring their own. Students should be able to attend most sessions, October 8 - November 26. 

 

The event is made possible by a generous donation from Clare and Molly Tyler to the Library Foundation of Martin County. This endowment enhances all STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) events throughout the Martin County Library System with the hopes of inspiring the future generation to pursue excellence in one of the STEM fields.
