Mansion at Tuckahoe Historic Tour

Explore our rich area's rich history and take a FREE tour of The Mansion at Tuckahoe! This historic site was once the home of Coca-Cola heiress Anne Bates Leach.

Tours take place every first and third Wednesday, at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., September 2019 through May 2020.

We ask our visitors to arrive 15 minutes ahead of tour time so we may assemble our groups.

For larger groups of 6 or more, please call for advanced notice (772) 463-3201.

Martin County's children's librarians love to read but they also love to sing and dance. According to Every Child Ready to Read @ Your Library, singing, talking, and playing are also important for developing early literacy skills.

Check with your local library or online for days and times. If you work during the week, the Hobe Sound Library and the Hoke Library in Jensen Beach offer family story times on Saturdays!

Family Place Field Trip

Family Place takes place off library premises today. For more information call 772-463-2870.

This 5 week program encourages parents/caregivers to play with their child in a fun, educational setting. A local resource professional is available at each session to discuss parenting topics. After an hour of free play, gather for a short circle time with Miss Lisa, our Family Place coordinator, for songs, finger plays and bubbles!

Crafternoon @ Cummings: Pumpkins!

Join us for an afternoon of adult arts and crafts. This month we'll be crafting small decorative pumpkins from fabric scraps.  All materials provided. Adult coloring supplies are always available at Crafternoon. Just bring your imagination!

Crafternoon @ Cummings happens on the 3rd Wednesday of most months at 2 pm with a mix of new and some recurring activities.

Community Action Agency Advisory Board Meeting

The quarterly meeting of the Treasure Coast Community Action Agency Advisory Board will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the Classroom of the St. Lucie County Community Services Office, 437 North 7th Street, Fort Pierce, FL.

Krafty Kids

Do you want to learn how to crochet and at the same time give back to the community?

Here is your chance. Join us in this informal group to crochet or craft items to be donated to local or national programs.  You bring your ideas and enthusiasm and we supply you with skills, hooks and patterns as well as with yarn. Show off your crafty handy work at the end and post it on our social media sites.

Library Board of Trustees Meeting

The Library Board of Trustees shall have the following duties, functions, and responsibilities: To serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of County Commissioners and the County Administration through the Library Director as follows:
(a)    Should the Library Director position become vacant, the County Administrator will provide the Trustees with the top three candidates being considered, their application and resumes. The County Administrator will solicit comments from the Trustees on each of the candidates and discuss possible rankings of the candidates prior to making a final determination. The final decision will be the responsibility of the County Administrator with confirmation by the Board of County Commissioners.
(b)    Develop library policy with the advice and counsel of the library director, especially concerning library hours, book selection, use of meeting rooms, etc.
(c)    Make continuing studies of all existing and future needs of the County in respect to public facilities and services. 
(d)    Review the financial position of the library system and make reports and submit recommendations regarding sound and feasible budget financing....
