The World's Largest Swimming Lesson

The 2019 World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2019. This will be the tenth year for the global event and TEAM WLSL™ will continue with its goal of reaching more than billion with the message Swimming Lesson Save Lives™ by 2019. Martin County's Park and Recreation WLSL event will place at Sailfish Splash Waterpark and join in more than 20 countries on five continents over the course of 24 hours.

Help us break a record! Join us for a FREE 30 Minutes Swim Lesson! We are a host site again this year for The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson.

Please fill out a registration form for EACH child that will be attending the swim lesson and bring them the day of the event. Complete the registration form online at...

The unlikely love that blooms between an impossibly square schoolmaster (Peter O'Toole) and a flashy dancehall girl (Petula Clark) leads to matrimony and livelier days at Brookfield Boys School in director Herbert Ross's musical adaptation of James Hilton's popular novel. O'Toole's role won him a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy.

Join this informal group to stitch, knit, crochet or craft items to be donated to local or national programs. Bring your ideas, enthusiasm and skills or learn new ones. We have some supplies, notions and 2 sewing machines. You may bring your own machine and cutting tools. We're making pillowcases for pediatric patients, wheelchair/walker caddies, Knitted Knockers for breast cancer survivors and Fidget quilts/pillows for Alzheimer's patients.

A Universe Of Food and Fun

Attention space travelers! It’s a long way to the galaxies and you will need lots of good fuel to get there!  Join Marybeth Pena RN as our intergalactic team explores a universe of food and fun in preparation for journeys near and far.  Our coordinates are 5210, the principles of a healthy diet filled with delicious food, fun, and activity.

The program provides dynamic, hands-on learning activities, a family cooking class and opportunity to taste foods prepared during the program.

Programs are free of charge.

Sunshine State Jr. Book Club

Students grades K-2 will meet Thursdays in June @ 4:30-5:30pm to read and discuss a selected Sunshine State Young Readers Award  JR. book. Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Meeting

It shall be the function of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to advise the Board of County Commissioners on the planning and implementation of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan and to make recommendations on programs, services, acquisition and uses of parkland, sports and recreation facilities as well as such other duties as may be assigned by the Board of County Commissioners.

Local Planning Agency Meeting

The Local Planning Agency is a five-member board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.  The Local Planning agency reviews and recommends to the Board of County Commission such items including but not limited to, development applications; rezoning applications; land use amendments; amendments to the General Code, Land Development Regulations, and Comprehensive Growth Management Plan.  The Local Planning Agency convenes the third Thursday of each month, and if necessary may also convene the first Thursday of the month.  The Local Planning Agency meetings are televised on MCTV.  Minutes are also prepared and can be obtained in the Growth Management Department.

This meeting is televised live on MCTV Channel 20 (Comcast), on Channel 99 (U-verse), and online at www.martin.fl.us/watch-mctv.
