At Sailfish Splash Waterpark, the safety of our customers and staff is our top priority. We created a comprehensive Sailfish Splash Waterpark 2021 COVID-19 Reopening Plan, which was presented to and adopted by the Martin County Board of County Commissioners on June 2, 2020.

The purpose of this plan is to develop, implement and enforce appropriate procedures, in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations to safely reopen Sailfish Splash Waterpark for everyone to enjoy.

Keeping our community safe is a joint effort and we need your help!  Please read below, the highlights of our reopening plan, to learn about the enhanced health and safety measures we are implementing to provide a safe environment for our guests, and important guidelines to help you prepare for a safe and fun visit to Sailfish Splash Waterpark.

Thank you for your collaboration, patience and understanding. Together we can make this summer a splashtastic one!

HEALTH AND SAFETY GUIDELINES & PROCEDURES

Please take the following guidelines into consideration when planning your visit to Sailfish Splash Waterpark:

  • The purchase of tickets online is encouraged. Please buy your tickets online.

  • The use of masks/face coverings is required during your visit whenever you cannot consistently maintain at least six feet (6’) of social distance from any person who is not in your household or group, except during use of the pool/waterpark attractions which necessarily precludes the wearing of a face covering (such as while swimming).  Face coverings are not required for the following:
    • Children under six (6) years of age and any child while under the custody of a licensed childcare facility, including schools, summer camps and daycare centers.
    • Individuals prohibited from wearing face coverings by Federal or State safety or health regulations.
    • Persons actively engaged in exercise and who are social distancing in accordance with CDC guidelines.
    • Persons who have a medical condition or disability that makes the wearing of face coverings unsafe.
    • Face coverings may be removed temporarily while assisting persons who are hearing impaired or who rely on reading lips in order to communicate.
    • Persons engaged in outdoor recreation with appropriate social distancing pursuant to CDC guidelines in place and being practiced.

  • Please do not jeopardize waterpark operations by entering the park if you or a member of your household are feeling ill, have a fever or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitizer at one of the provided stations around the facility; including after coughing or sneezing, before eating, after toilet use, and when hands are visibly dirty.

  • Each guest will be required to use available tubes in the Lazy River ride. Please use our hand sanitation stations prior to entering the Lazy River ride. The Lazy River ride has one entrance and one exit.

  • Follow social/physical distancing guidelines carefully, maintaining 6 feet of space from others at all times. Family members and others (a “family unit”) who live in the same household can be closer together. All others will strictly adhere to the physical distancing guidelines. This will apply throughout the water playground, water slides, lazy river, in queue lines, on deck, in food and beverage facilities, in the gift shop and in restrooms.

  • Please do not move deck furniture so we may maintain appropriate social distancing.

  • Groups/camps and birthday parties larger than 10 people will not be permitted. Group size restrictions may ease in later phases as other government restrictions are lifted.

  • To reduce the spread of COVID-19, our staff will avoid face-to-face contact with others and all our staff will wear masks/face coverings while interacting with others around the deck, concession, gift shop or other areas where social distancing is not possible.

  • Government health organizations are recommending people 65 years and older, those who live in a nursing homes or long-term care facilities, and people with underlying medical conditions (particularly if not well controlled) should remain home.

  • Avoid using cash if possible. The use of credit cards is preferred.

  • Patrons will enter through the gift shop and exit through the main gate to create one-way traffic in areas where social distancing is difficult.

  • If the park approaches the established capacity, staff will manage the one way exit and gate admissions simultaneously to allow for new admissions as guests exit the park.

  • Control points will be established to monitor capacity and have staff remind guests to adhere to the guidelines.

  • Sailfish Splash Waterpark will utilize touch-free/contactless payment options when and where possible. All cash handling areas will have signs that state “The use of credit cards is preferred”.

  • Signage will be posted throughout the facility, including floor markings and signs, to allow for social distancing while park guests are queuing for attractions (Slide tower steps, Wiggly Waters, Diving Board, Lazy River), admissions windows, deck tiki, concessions windows and gift shop.

  • Deck furniture and picnic tables will be placed in groups of 4 for families and create distancing of at least 6 feet between sets. Guests are not permitted to move the furniture around the deck to maintain physical distancing between families.

  • Staff will sanitize high-touch areas frequently.

  • Additional hand sanitizer stations will be throughout the Waterpark.

  • A pre-scripted public announcement will be played at the top of each hour reiterating the importance of social distancing and frequent hand washing with soap and water for 20 seconds.

  • Life jackets and lazy river tubes will be sanitized between uses.

  • Lockers will be sanitized between each use and bags provided so guests can stow their personal items in those bags before placing them in a locker. Locker keys will be wiped down using a hand sanitizing wipe prior to handing the key to the customer.
